Novenas
Nine days of prayer for a particular intention, which Gianna carries with you.
Updated 2026-06-17
A novena is nine days of prayer for a particular intention — a beautiful, focused way to bring something to God. Gianna can carry one with you: she brings each day's prayer to you and keeps count, so you only have to show up.
Starting one
Ask her:
"Start the Divine Mercy novena."
"I'd like to pray a novena to St Joseph for my father."
If you're not sure which, ask "what novenas do you offer?" and she'll tell you. The catalogue holds well-known devotions — to the Sacred Heart, Divine Mercy, the Holy Spirit, St Joseph, St Jude, St Thérèse, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and others (including St Gianna Beretta Molla) — and it grows over time.
Praying it
Each day, Gianna gives you that day's prayer (day 1 through 9) — in the morning note, or whenever you ask "what's today's novena prayer?" You can pair it with a prayer intention so the nine days are offered for what you're carrying.
If you miss a day
Life happens. Just come back — ask for the day's prayer and continue. Gianna keeps the novena gently in view rather than scolding you for a gap.
