Gianna on iPhone & iPad
Install Gianna from the browser on iPhone & iPad, with her notes through your day.
Updated 2026-06-17
Gianna lives in your browser — there's nothing to download from the App Store. A couple of small steps turn it into something that feels like a real app, with her notes arriving through your day.
Open Gianna
Open Safari and go to gianna.chat. Sign in, and tap Open Gianna to reach the app. You can use it right here in the browser — but for the best experience, add it to your Home Screen.
Add to Home Screen
This is the important step. On iPhone, Gianna can only show notifications and run full-screen once she's on your Home Screen — Apple doesn't allow it from inside Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow, at the bottom of Safari).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
Now open Gianna from the new icon, not from Safari. She'll fill the screen like an app, and the notification option appears.
Notifications
Gianna can send her morning note, your reminders, and the evening examen to your lock screen — so you hear from her even when the app is closed.
Turn them on:
- Open Gianna from the Home Screen icon (not Safari — this is the step Apple requires, see above).
- Go to Settings inside the app.
- Tap Get Gianna's notes on this device.
- iPhone will ask "Gianna" Would Like to Send You Notifications — tap Allow.
That's it. From now on her notes arrive on your lock screen, and tapping one opens Gianna to the message.
What you'll receive: the morning note, reminders you've set, your recurring routines (like the weekly review and evening examen), and any time Gianna reaches out first. Nothing noisy — these follow your quiet hours and a gentle daily limit, both of which you can change in Settings.
If you tapped "Don't Allow" by mistake: iPhone won't ask a second time, so the button can't re-prompt. To undo it, open iOS Settings → Apps → Notifications → Gianna (or find Gianna in the apps list) and turn Allow Notifications on. Then reopen Gianna and tap the button again.
A few honest notes for iPhone:
- This works on iOS 16.4 or later. If you're on something older, use Telegram below.
- Notifications only work when Gianna is opened from the Home Screen icon — never from Safari. (If the button in Settings isn't there, you're in Safari, or Gianna hasn't been added to the Home Screen yet.)
- You don't need to do anything to keep them working — Gianna quietly re-checks and renews the connection each time you open her. If they ever do go quiet, just open the app once; that's usually enough.
Telegram — often the easier path on iPhone
If notifications feel fiddly, Telegram is the most reliable way to hear from Gianna on an iPhone. It's a free chat app, and her notes arrive there like any message — no Home Screen step needed.
- Install Telegram from the App Store if you don't have it.
- In Gianna, open Settings (or tap Connect Telegram on the welcome card) and tap the link.
- Telegram opens straight to the Gianna bot and connects you automatically.
From then on, your morning note, reminders, and examen come through Telegram — and you can reply to her right there.
Voice notes
Through Telegram you can also speak to Gianna. Hold the microphone, say your intention or your day, and she'll understand it. Handy for adding a prayer request or a task without typing. (Voice is a Pro feature.)
Small tips
- If a button near the very bottom of the screen feels hard to tap, scroll up slightly and try again.
- Use Gianna from the Home Screen icon once you've added it — that's where she's at her best.
- Light or dark, Gianna follows your taste; the theme toggle is at the top of the screen.
